In support of the government's initiative to develop rural tourism for equitable development and sustainability in economic, socio-cultural, and environmental aspects, DSDS has chosen Desa Tajen as a pilot project. This initiative aims to transform Tajen into an independent and sustainable tourist village. Tajen was selected due to the strong commitment from the village government and its community members to advance tourism. With a population of just 2,729 (under 15,000), the village is rich in scenic rice fields, mountain views, various fruits, traditional houses, culinary diversity, arts, and meaningful local rituals. This combination of attractions synergizes to realize the vision of Indonesia’s Golden Year in 2045 through community-based development. "A Village Building for a Prosperous Village."
