The Eco-Enzyme initiative, led by I Gede Darmawijaya, is an innovative project aimed at enhancing environmental resilience through the production of eco-enzyme, a multifunctional cleaning solution derived from organic waste. Supported by the Student Organization of the Hotel Room Division and students from the Hospitality Management Program, this initiative addresses organic waste management issues and the demand for eco-friendly cleaning products.
The primary goal of the project is to reduce waste by utilizing fruit and vegetable scraps, creating a safe natural cleaning solution, and engaging the local community in the production and application process of eco-enzyme. Key activities include producing eco-enzyme by mixing organic waste with water and sugar, testing its cleaning effectiveness compared to conventional cleaners, and conducting community workshops to empower participants with knowledge about sustainable practices.
This collaborative effort not only promotes a culture of sustainability but also encourages community participation in environmental conservation efforts. By involving various stakeholders, the initiative is expected to have a broad positive impact on environmental awareness and waste management in the community.
